Heavy-Duty 3D Printed Coral Frag Rack
Designed by Someone Who Actually Grows Acropora
Are you tired of flimsy racks that bend and block your water flow? In fact, the ACROKINGDOM Premium Coral Frag Rack is built completely differently. Because we know what it takes to grow and color up heavy Acropora, we designed a rack that actually supports your reef.
Zero Bending, Maximum Strength
Unlike standard racks that sag and eventually break under just a few frags, our heavy-duty honeycomb design easily withstands serious weight without bending. As a result, even your heaviest coral plugs stay perfectly stable and secure.
Flow-Through Leg Design
Good flow is everything for SPS corals. Specifically, our unique flow-through legs feature open apertures that maximize horizontal water circulation directly under the frag bed. Therefore, detritus cannot settle underneath, keeping your water much cleaner.
Modular and Stackable
Do you need to get your corals closer to the light? Fortunately, the rack is fully compatible with our Modular Reef Rack Extension Kit (will be available to order soon). Simply slide the extension legs into the inside slots for an instant 85mm height increase.
Premium Reef-Safe Specifications
Made entirely from high-quality, reef-safe PETG material, this rack gives you plenty of space to grow out your collection:
-
Capacity: 30 holes (14mm diameter)
-
Overall Dimensions: 240mm x 210mm
-
Base Height: 90mm
3D Printing Quality Note
Please note: This item is custom 3D printed rather than laser cut or injection molded. As a result, minor surface variations or layer lines are completely normal. However, these cosmetic features will not affect the overall strength, durability, or safety of the rack in your tank.
Key Requirements for Healthy Acropora
Essential Water & Lighting Parameters
-
Flow: Acropora corals naturally thrive in reef zones with intense currents. Therefore, strong and varied water movement in an aquarium removes waste while delivering vital nutrients directly to the coral.
-
Water Quality: Maintaining low nitrate and phosphate levels is critical for Acropora health. In fact, poor water quality can slow down their growth and negatively impact their overall condition.
-
Lighting: In a reef tank, corals positioned near the top receive higher light exposure, while those below may be shaded. Consequently, careful placement and lighting adjustments are necessary for optimal development.
-
Water Chemistry: In addition, these corals depend on stable levels of Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium to build their skeletal structures.
-
Feeding: Regular feeding withΒ DIY Fish Food: How to Make Fish Food and Save Money supports Acroporaβs growth and enhances coloration. Additionally, the presence of fish in the tank contributes to their overall well-being by providing natural nutrients.
The Importance of Flow for Vibrant Acropora Coloration
Preventing Detritus and Enhancing Nutrient Uptake
Strong, turbulent water flow is essential for Acropora corals because it prevents detritus from settling on their tissue. Additionally, proper circulation ensures optimal nutrient absorption. Without adequate flow, debris accumulates rapidly, which leads to poor photosynthesis and dull coloration.
Improving Gas Exchange and Coral Health
High-energy water movement promotes oxygen exchange, removes metabolic waste, and enhances polyp extension. As a result, your corals display much deeper and more vibrant colors. Conversely, stagnant water can cause tissue recession, increased algae growth, and poor overall health, ultimately dulling the coralβs natural hues.
Creating Ideal Reef Flow Patterns
To achieve the best possible coloration, use wavemakers or gyre pumps to create randomized, multi-directional flow that mimics natural reef currents. In short, direct linear flow is simply not enough. Corals require dynamic, ever-changing water movement so that they can bring out their most vivid colors.
