Acropora Humilis- AK Aurora Spire: The Architect of the High-Energy Reef
For the reefer who demands more than just thin branches, the AK Aurora Spire is the ultimate acquisition. This is a premiere Acropora humilis, a species famous for inhabiting the most turbulent, wave-battered zones of the reef crest. The result is a coral with massive, thick, thumb-like branches that provide a sense of scale and power no other SPS can match.
The “Aurora” designation comes from its stunning color profile. A deep, saturated base that transitions into shimmering neon highlights at the tips. Under high-actinic lighting, the large, prominent corallites glow with a prehistoric intensity.
Why the AK Aurora Spire is a Powerhouse:
-
-
-
Massive Structure: Features some of the thickest branches in the Acropora genus, making it highly resistant to accidental breakage and a favorite for large display tanks.
-
Large Polyp Presence: The corallites on the Humilis are exceptionally large and well-defined, giving the coral a rugged, “armored” texture.
-
Aurora Glow: Our ACROKINGDOM selection is chosen specifically for its ability to hold neon pigments even under the most intense lighting.
